Copy-pasting without transferring format in Fedora

I would like to be able to copy-paste text without transferring the format. Im using F19 with KDE.

Currently, when I copy-paste (between Firefox, LibreOffice, etc), formatting like font, font size and font attributes get also copied and pasted. But I am looking for a way to copy-paste such that the format of the original text is discarded and instead the format of the target document is used, as if I had typed the text on the keyboard.

Try a right click and see if there's a "paste without formatting" option. It depends on the receiving application. If not, keep a copy of your favorite text editor open and use that as a mid-point.

A simple and free tool for Windows called "PureText" that allows me to cut the Notepad step. It basically adds an extra keyboard shortcut e.g WinKey + V that will do the Paste action without formatting; just pure text.

For some reason unbeknownst to me, the middle button on my mouse no longer pastes texts into terminal windows, emails, or anywhere else it use to after I highlight text.

Everything else on my mouse appears to work just fine. I haven't applied any updates. Actually, I decided to update my desktop and rebooted after this problem appeared.

I'm running Fedora 20. I know, it's getting long in the tooth. I am actually going to install the latest and greatest soon, but not for another month or so.

I'd really appreciate it if someone could point me in the right direction to get this annoying issue resolved.

I want to start a systemd service (dhcpd) , but only if a link to the internet is present. I don't want the service to start on boot.

systemctl start doesn't work unless the service is enabled.

This works, but it's very kludgy:

if
    *
 systemctl enable
 systemctl start
 systemctl disable
fi

Any better ideas ?

On CentOS, top shows per process memory using in kb or mb. On Fedora 19, top shows per process memory usage by the byte. Is there an option or setting to make Fedora's top (from procps-ng) work like CentOS' (from procps).

When I create an entry in the ecolution calendar (New York time zone) Everything is fine, but when I edit it the time zone goes to UTC. The system is set to use the NY time zone.

Weird!! Tried to a search on google but nothing really comes up on this. Not sure if it a bug or it is a setting somewhere I missed.

I completed my installation of solid-state drives and, of course, a new installation of F27.

And now: what happened to my system configuration tools? How do I start and stop services?

My biggest problem is Samba. I can't see any Windows computers on my network, and they can't see me. (I can, however, see a network printer. That, I configured in the System Settings app.)
