LTE: Why sub-carrier spacing is kept 15 Khz in LTE ?

I know 15 Khz spacing is used between between two sub carrier. From where this 15 Khz is derived ?
What things are considered to calculate this number ?

Hi,

15Khz is the minimum spacing required to avoid interference. If you reduce still more then interference will be more. Based on statistics 3GPP defines it as 15KHZ
