  1. Login to GoDaddy
  2. Choose domain and launch your domain
  3. Now you have your domain detail page, in this page select “DNS Zone File”
  4. Select “Edit”
  5. Select “Quick Add”
  6. Add host as your subdomain (only subdomain part is required not the complete) and ipaddress as what ever is the IP.
  7. “Save Zone File”, check you have an entry of community in the DNS Zone file after save.
  8. And you are done (it can take few hours to 24 hrs to get the update in the godaddy).

socket.gethostbyname sends the DNS resolution query to the DNS server specified by the OS. Is there an easy way to send a query to a *different* server?

I see that twisted.names allows you to do this, but, having all of twisted as dependency to my project when all I need to do is a simple DNS query seems a bit extreme. I also found pydns, but that looks fairly outdated and unmaintained.

The Barracuda load balancer has feature which enables it to recover a broken web connection. Let me explain the scenario; suppose that there exist two web servers behind the Barracuda load balancer and the user is downloading a file from one of the back-end web servers. Now, suppose that the active web server goes down, the Barracuda load balancer is capable of continuing the download from where it was broken using the other web server. Is it possible to achieve such a behaviour using mod_proxy_balancer? Are there exist any open source alternatives which can provide the same capability? If not, is anybody aware of any roadmap to achieve the same functionality using open source tools? Considering mod_proxy_balancer, what are the required steps to follow in order to add such a functionality?
