How to change display resolution after installing proprietary NVidia drivers on Fedora?

I have installed NVIDIA propriety drivers on Fedora 21. And now I wants to change the display resolution.

How can I do that?

Getting different results with Fedora 19 and older nvidia card

Booted machine from livecd image, and the gnome3 worked.

Used Fedup to upgrade an Fedora 18 setup to Fedor 19, and gnome3 doesn't work (Opps screen), but KDE and Xfce does.

Did a clean install from the DVD image of Fedora 19 to a new hard disk, and gnome3 doesn't work, kde regular doesn't work, kde failsafe works, and xfce works.

The machine has a nvidia geforce FX 5200 card, which I know is old, but that is what my classroom has in all 20 machines. So, not just a matter of getting a different card. Long ago was using the nvidia driver from there site, but they dropped support for the older cards, so had to switch to the nouvea driver.

Any suggestions, or just have to stick with xfce..

Installing Fedora On A Chromebook......

Is it possible to install Fedora on a Chromebook and completely REMOVE the ChromeOS? if so...how? everything I've seen so far says "dual-boot" but nothing seems to give you instructions as to how it can be
completely removed from the system.

How to set video resolution permanently in Fedora 22?

I want my Fedora 22 box to run at a video resolution of 1680x1050.

I added and selected that resolution by doing:

$ xrandr --newmode "1680x1050_60.00"  146.25  1680 1784 1960 2240  1050 1053 1059 1089 -hsync +vsync
$ xrandr --addmode VGA-0 1680x1050_60.00
$ xrandr --output VGA-0 --mode 1680x1050_60.00

That worked, but when I reboot the resolution reverts to 1280x1024.

I tried creating file:

/etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/40-monitor.conf

and putting in it:

Section "Monitor"
 Identifier "VGA-0"
 Option "PreferredMode" "1680x1050_60.00"
EndSection

but that had no effect (perhaps because the resolution was not found after the reboot).

How can I set the resolution to 1680x1050 permanently?

Device Drivers in Fedora 18

I am on the verge of a rather thorough hardware upgrade, ie. motherboard/cpu, and in addition want to migrate from XP 32 to Fedora 18 64. So, now it occurs to me that all the drivers from Windoze will be
gone--are there drivers in the Fedora CD package, or will I have to hunt them down? Actually, there may be a more basic driver issue--namely, running the CD player itself: the driver won't be loaded yet. Is this a
problem? I also have an ISO image on USB, if needed.

Thunderbird does not display images in email messages on my fedora machine?

I have been having a problem with TB for quite some time, and I am getting rather tired of the problem.

Images in messages that are sent to me by users of windows are not displayed in TB. Rather, all I see are empty boxes where images are supposed to be.

This is not to say that every message I get from windows users containing images are treated this way by TB.

I am just saying that some individuals I know, who use windows, and send me email containing images are treated this way by TB.

Is there a setting that I need to set?
