IP Addess Allocation when UE moved from 3G to 4G network?

When the subscriber moves from poor 3G RF conditions to good LTE RF conditions. The IP address on 3G is different from IP address on LTE Networks. Is it possible that there should be no ip address change when customer moves from worse 3G conditions to Good 4G conditions and vice versa. If so., how can we prevent ip address changing?

Depends a lot on the operator/vendors not on the specs.
IP address is given to the UE based on service (Access Point Name). In the above scenario, UE is moved from 3G to 4G or vice verse, the same PGW/GGSN, (SGW/SGSN may change) selected by the MME.Hence UE will get the same IP address since he not requested the new service during 3G to 4G (APN).
If the mobility/handover is anchored by the same P G/W in 3G and 4G network the UE will retain the same IP address after the HO.

As someone pointed out, this would be a function of the carrier and their equipment parameters as opposed to an Installer/Integrator/Specs issue. This would be entirely a function of the DHCP analog and unlikely to be in control of a vendor.

I know its possible to handover to 3G from 4G in connected state.

But do networks implemented the backwards, I mean 3G to 4G while UE in connected state?? Reselection happens for me but not Handover ?? When UE goes to Cell_PCH or IDLE state it moves back to 4G, not when I am streaming or downloading.

If a UE is in RRC Idle state plus ECM registered and the UE has moved to a place where no reception is possible and after some time he has come out from that... What procedures will happen in UE?

My new phone was running on 3G but from last one day it now shows LTE instead of 3G. I am not a techie so don't know what it is about and how it is possible.

Also how long it will remain on LTE.

Hi, what will be happened to 4G subscriber in absence of 4G network. Will he/she latch to 3G network? Especially in Punjab where 3G network is not available?

I am unable to get complete signaling flow of handover from LTE to other network like 3g, 2g, wifi network.

I want to understand complete flow of handover from mobile (From LTE network) to other mobile (to other network like 3g, 2g, wifi network).
