CSFB:
Faster, so very less delay in CS call establishment.
Source base station deletes the UE context immediately after sending the RrcConnRelease (Redirected info).

Handover to other RAT:
Adds extra delay in establishing the CS call as source prepared the target before giving the HO command.
Advantage with HO is we can handover the PS services also.
In HO source base station delays the release of UE context, so that if HO fail UE can return using the reestablishment.

Hi Folks,

Can you explain me when we will prefer A2 and A3 events for measurement report?
And is there any relation between the events?
What are these Ms,Hys,Thresh,Ofn,Ocn,Mn and how ENb will set these values in the meas config?

Thanks ,

Naveen.

During X2-handover, In PDCP how to forward prepared packets which are not yet got ACK from UE and packets getting from SGW ?

Because why I getting this doubt is, Packets which are not got ACK all are prepared one means assigned PDCP SN but packets getting from SGW are SDU's means not assigned PDCP SN for those (we sent SN status info to Target eNB when handover triggered).how to differentiate these packets at target eNB which one is PDU and which one is SDU.

In case of hub-and-spoke topology, X2 messaging can travel all the way back to an aggregation point, which may be co-located with EPC. In such scenario both X2 and S1 traverses same physical path (a.k.a X2 over S1). Please consider both Intra-MME and Inter-MME handover scenarios. Would X2 based handover in such a case yield advantage over S1 based handover. Thanks.

If my understanding is correct then as part of handover procedure, UE can do either contention based rach or non-contention based.
Now my question is that on what parameter basis target eNodeB decide for an UE to do contention/non-contention based rach during the handover procedure ?
