Thunderbird vs. Evolution vs. OwnCloud

I'm currently using Thunderbird synced to OwnCloud on my main workstation running Slackware64 14.1. I just installed CentOS 7 on my Asus S300 laptop. It's running nicely, and I'm spending some time getting acquainted with it.

I wonder if I should stick with Thunderbird or go with the default Evolution application, since this seems to be better integrated into the desktop, namely the calendar function.

On the other hand, it seems like you have to jump through burning loops to connect Evolution to OwnCloud.

What are your experiences with these two clients and OwnCloud? Any suggestions?

Thunderbird does not display images in email messages on my fedora machine?

I have been having a problem with TB for quite some time, and I am getting rather tired of the problem.

Images in messages that are sent to me by users of windows are not displayed in TB. Rather, all I see are empty boxes where images are supposed to be.

This is not to say that every message I get from windows users containing images are treated this way by TB.

I am just saying that some individuals I know, who use windows, and send me email containing images are treated this way by TB.

Is there a setting that I need to set?

Fedup issue with thunderbird after to fedora upgrade?

I upgraded to fedora 20 from fedora 19 using fedup. Everything went well except for some weird issues with Thunderbird. The latter is now giving me a pile of weird permission errors and disk space errors. There is 250GB free space, so I know that is not the problem. Obviously this has something to do with the permissions on the thunderbird folder, but I do not have the knowledge to rectify the problem.

Please suggest how to proceed?

For a long time I have been doing:

/etc/locale.conf change: LANG="en_US.UTF-8"
LANG="en_GB.UTF-8"

To make Thunderbird list messages with 24 hour time. Can someone suggest a better way to accomplish this?

How to change the color of Thunderbird text

I view Thunderbird meswsages on a black background with white text, works well for my vision problems, however T-bird displays quoted text, e.g. joe@xxx.com, in dark blue which I can't read unless highlighted using a hand magnifier! Does anyone know how to change that color? I would be happy if everything was displayed in bold white text, the colors are without benefit "to me anyway."

Importing Thunderbird Mail from WindowsXP to Fedora18

I have retreved the Thunderbird folder from a crashed WindowsXP and now have it on a Fedora 18 /home/user install.

The Fedora install already has Thunderbird installed and New Emails are already in Thunderbird, I want import the Emails from the WindowsXP Thunderbird in with the existing emails already in Fedora Thunderbird. How do I do that ??
