LTE: Is there any satellite back haul for Lte network ?

Yes, lte network may have satellite back haul to provide its services at rural areas. As per my understanding, such type of solution is best suited for military services. I am not sure what types or services can be provided through this back haul. I mean to ask voice or delay sensitive services.

Interface point of view, I found a link which shows satellite gateway connects to PGW through SGi interface.

Is there any option is the LTE handset by which when UE makes a voice call it goes through legacy network 2G/3G and for data it uses LTE network assuming LTE network supports LTE data/VoLTE/Legacy Network ?

In types of microwave repeaters "regenerative transponder" is one type. In that we use modulator and demodulator.
